Historical Mission Archive
We have established a historical mission archive within the Nova Research Centre for the use of any student of European mission as well as for interested individuals from the wider missions community in Europe. At present the collection includes three significant deposits from:
- European Christian Mission (approx. 1920 to present)
- CEC Mission in Europe Research Programme (2003-2007)
- MARC Europe (1990-2000 approx)
We are currently cataloguing this collection and when finished we will make the archive catalogue available online through this website. The type of material held includes missionary newsletters, mission magazines, official documents such as minute books, annual Church and Mission Agency directories, country specific reports, statistical data, and reports covering a wide range of mission activity in Europe.
The archive is supplemented by a small library of books and booklets offering valuable information about European countries including mission history, church history, cultural analysis, and other relevant information. The Redcliffe main library is also available to anybody wishing to visit us for research purposes. Our main library meets the needs of both the novice and the experienced missionary as well as the more specific needs of students of mission.
If you would like to make an enquiry about the historical archive or would like to visit it, then please do make contact with our Intern, Mrs Rita Rimkiene, in the first instance. She will be able to help you with your enquiry.
